Teaching Experience

2002         For the Art Gallery of Ontario:
Taught Summer Art Camp for 8–10 year olds

2000 – 2001    For the Ontario College of Art & Design’s Discovery Program: Taught Wild Watercolour for “gifted” students in Grades 5–8, Toronto Catholic School Board

1996 – 2000    Artist in Residence
at The Paper Studio, Toronto’s First Post Office:
Taught four 2-day workshops in western and eastern papermaking, cast paper and mask-making.

I approach art education as an exploration of ideas, colours, shapes and materials. It’s not about the final product: it’s about curiosity and discovery.  I support learner’s curiosity and exploration. I create a collaborative atmosphere.

Curatorial Work

1999 – 2001    Curatorial Assistant,
Ontario College of Art & Design
Inventoried ancient works on paper, and did research on the artists in OCAD’s Permanent Collection.

Curated “Hidden Gems”: Significant Works from the Archives and Permanent Collection. Installed 55 works.

Co-curated “Rewind/Pause/Play”.  I re-created OCAD’s 125-year history from artworks in the Permanent Collection. I wrote “A Haganography: Mapping the Influence of a Master”, and installed the work.

1992 – 1993    Curated “The Angels of  Christmas Past: L. Scott Young Retrospective” for the Annex Art Centre. This led to the production of a 10-minute CBC-TV documentary on the artist, the conservation of 15 murals painted by Young in 1944, and the restoration of Young’s historic work in St. Clement’s Church, St. Clement’s, ON.
